Below is info from the manufacture... The Onkyo D-N7X bookshelf speakers are designed to achieve a rich bass reproduction spread, with the help of the newly developed A-OMF monocoque cone woofer. A "Monocoque" diaphragm covers the entire driver from the center cap over the entire driver. In fact, Monocoque is actually three layers, including an outer polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) layer, an inner Aramid layer (used in bulletproof vests), and a flexible cotton weave layer between the two. With one continuous surface, the driver's piston motion is more efficient and precise. The ring-drive tweeter was designed with an "aluminum equalizer" to achieve a high-frequency reproduction with a gloss, such as vocal depth, equipped with a ring-shaped diaphragm which aimed to ensure accurate driving ability in the expansion of the piston motion. By placing the driving point of the voice coil to the mid-point of the inner peripheral portion and the outer peripheral portion of the diaphragm to adopt a "balanced drive structure", playback of up to 100kHz Oiyari unnecessary division vibration in the high frequency (piston motion area is 20kHz expansion to near) was achieved.
