Heavy Duty Mechanic

UPTIME REPAIR LTD Is looking to add to their great team by hiring a Red Seal Heavy Duty mechanic to perform on-site repairs and maintenance on all makes and models of equipment, as well as commercial transport vehicles. Based in Victoria BC, most work is done throughout the beautiful Capital Regional District. Work is done in the field and in customer shops. Safety is a top priority as most of the time the employee will be working alone with support in the field. Specialized tooling and software are provided on a fully equipped service truck. A self motivated and organized individual will flourish in this position with regular performance reviews and wage adjustments. Duties include: Perform pre trip inspections on service truck. Communicate effectively with customers, operators and co-workers. Regular maintenance on manufacture recommended intervals on trucks and equipment. Perform hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting and repairs. Perform AC repairs. Rebuild hydraulic cylinders. Welding. Full range of repairs on heavy/medium duty commercial trucks. Engine diagnostic and repairs. Software provided. Use mobile crane safely to remove heavy and difficult to access components. Write comprehensible service reports-laptop provided. Along with having all the skills above the right candidate could have or can obtain: Class 3 with air. 5-10+ years experience. An apprentice would be considered as well. CVI inspectors. Must possess valid drivers license with a clean abstract. Pay will start at $50 p/hr, could be more or less based on experience and tooling, and up to $70+ p/hr. OT available. Benefits included.
