VINTAGE BURNS' SHAMROCK LARD CAN
This Burns' Shamrock Lard can is in great shape (compared to most). The history of this can is really Calgary's history. Patrick Burns was instrumental in the creation of a profitable cattle industry in Alberta with his packing plant, which was the biggest employer in Calgary at the time. He was one of the founders of the Calgary Stampede and the bridges, parks, buildings and so much else that is named after him, not only in Calgary, though throughout the country are far to numerous to list.
This was one of the few cans that didn't end up kicked around in someones shop, garage or barn filled with tools and stuff. It's in great shape. It measures 12 inches across by 15 inches high. Makes a great accent - and conversation piece
