$8,000 · RARE find "The Orca" at The Old Attic

These RARE Sculptures were part of Victoria's landscape for a time.
A well known local artist was commissioned then sponsored by a local business to paint a whale to represent that business.

The Orca
Artist: Sherry Leigh Williams
Sponsor: The Bay

Medium: Acrylic Paints
Commissioned by The Bay Center in its downtown location in 2004 to paint a historical motif on her Orca as part of The Orcas in the City project.
Deschamp's Quest was a wonderful opportunity to share my own family history as a Metis person, and as a descendant of the rugged Metis Voyageurs - said Williams.

Provenance: Inspired by the quest of the Metis, 'Deschamps Quest" bears the emblem of the Metis flag - the eternity symbol- on its back to signify the blending of the two races forever.
Those first children born of European men and Indian women were the beginning of a new race of people.
The Metis meaning "to mix" is synonymous with The Hudson's Bay Company and early explorers.

You must make a point to come out to the shop to see this piece of art up close.
You can actually hug a Whale!
